Create a case cover sheet.
Record the court, case number, parties, next hearing and current deadlines.
Maintain one deadline list.
Include the action, person responsible, due date and date completed.
Keep a correspondence log.
Record the date, sender, subject and action required. Save the original message.
Review weekly.
Check upcoming deadlines, missing documents and whether any practical arrangements need confirming.
Keep in mind
- Use consistent filenames: YYYY-MM-DD – document title.
- Back up important material in a second secure place.
- Do not mix drafts with documents actually filed or served.
